Class at the Creative Mansion Children's Academy

Our class structure follows a mixed age learning center model, where children of different ages are grouped together with teachers who will stay with them through graduation. As they begin their academic education, the mixed age model provides social and intellectual benefits for the children as they learn to deal with their age differences, and polish social and communication skills.

The Busy Bumble Bees | Little Angels
The Busy Bumble Bee & Little Angels are our introductory groups for 2 -3 year olds. Here your child has the opportunity to make social and emotional adjustments and learn to build relationships. Many times this is their first experience away from home or the caregiver that they have become familiar with. This is a time to make new bonds and learn about the concepts of separating from the parent and sharing activities.  They begin to realize that the world does not center around them, and that everything is not 'me', 'mine', and 'no'.

They are introduced to the alphabet, counting, and distinguishing differences.  Students are introduced to options and taught to think about their choices and to make good choices. The children begin to use their cognitive processing to control fine motorskills, learn the numbering system through 20 and the long vowel sounds and consonants that sound like their name.

Explorers | God's Promises | The Super Stars | The Planners
In these 3 - 5 year old groups, phonetic components that have already been introduced, letter and number recognition and identification are reinforced. Your child will be introduced to opposites, tiered instruction, lower case letters and short vowel sounds. They begin to expand their vocabulary as they learn new words and begin to identify and learn to draw shapes.  These groups work with sensory objects and are asked to describe them and how they feel. They begin to look at and identify letters of the alphabet in their scribbling and in their art work. Upper and lower case letter identification is accurate.  They will begin to learn the number families and learn to tell time on an analog clock.  They begin to practice printing with a pencil on lined paper and learn to cut with scissors.

Having been exposed to all of the phonetic components, they start to focus on putting the sounds together and sounding out words.  Actual reading begins in these classes. The children begin to learn to group and cluster items, learn about the half hours and quarter hours on an analog clock, review the values of coins and practice handwriting on lined paper.  Activities and instruction help to expand the child's unique individualism. When they graduate, they will be well prepared for first grade, no matter what elementary school they attend!
